In the romantic novel Hikari no Densetsu, the main character is Hikari Kamijou, a junior high school student in the 1980s who dreams of becoming a top rhythmic gymnast. However, her insecurities and lack of success weigh her down. Nevertheless, she persists with unwavering determination and devotion to the sport, drawing inspiration from Diliana Georgieva, a renowned Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast. Together with three comrades who are pursuing their own aspirations, Hikari endeavors to enhance her routines, although she has much to learn and can be prone to carelessness.

As a fifth-grader, Mikan distinguishes herself from her peers by joining forces with Rabi, an alien creature who bears a striking resemblance to a rabbit. Together, they serve as protectors of the planet, battling injustice as valiant heroes.

The reason for having a gyaru in the gaming club is unclear. Taichi Oota, an otaku, wanted to experience his dream high school life by joining the game club. In the club, he encounters Ageha Onisaki, a first-year student who is a gyaru.

Aida, a handsome youth, became smitten with Yano Kokoro, the beloved classmate, and moved seats to be closer to her. To win her heart, he immersed himself in the realm of shoujo manga, which he thought was universally adored by girls. Despite his efforts, Yano, a sensible individual, seemed unimpressed with his tactics.

Despite her dislike for socializing with other girls, Haruka Asakura comes across Kanata Fujiwara, a tall, princely figure among girls, after being forced to attend an all-girl high school. Surprisingly, Haruka discovers that she can communicate with Kanata with ease, making her develop unanticipated emotions for her new companion.

Kamio, a basketball team member, has harbored feelings for Kitano, their manager, for as long as he can recall. The train ride back home is a cherished moment for him. However, one day, the train abruptly halts, causing Kamio to accidentally touch Kitano's chest. Alarmed, he discovers that his left hand is no longer under his command, acting independently. In a last-ditch endeavor to regain control, Kamio begs Kitano to permit him to grope her chest anew.

The relationship between Manaka and Toudou can be compared to that of a dog and cat, until a duplicate of Manaka suddenly appears, causing significant changes in their dynamic. Toudou, who has a fondness for sinister subjects, teams up with Manaka to uncover the mystery surrounding her true identity.
